Blessed Beyond Measure and Grateful

We are so richly blessed

The Lord has been so good to us. We are so richly blessed by him. He has given us a strong marriage, and seven beautiful, intelligent, healthy, God fearing children. We are blessed beyond measure and eternally grateful with these alone. Our great and loving God did not stop there though. He has also given us a wonderful extended family, and an ever growing church family. He provided Aaron with a good job and the ability to work, and provide for all of us. Most recently he provided us with the home we have been praying for, for quite a few years now.

This blog is another of his wonderful blessings to me personally. It has given me a way to express my thoughts and feelings to others who may need to hear what I have to say. It also helps me to have a written creative outlet. This blog has really helped me keep my thoughts together so much better and sharpen my mind. I am praying that I can also be a blessing to Aaron with it financially at some point. He does a wonderful job providing for us all, but if I can alleviate some of that burden from him I am sure he wouldn’t complain.

Grateful no matter what

I promised myself and God a long time ago to be grateful no matter what happened in my life. I am sorry to say that I have not always done a great job of keeping that promise, but the more I practice being grateful even in hard times the easier it is. Living in our new house for almost a week now has shown me just how grateful we were in our previous home. Aaron and I were discussing this fact just last night. We were stacked on top of each other in a 3 bedroom house that did not belong to us, and needed some repairs that we could not fix ourselves. I am not trying to complain or pat us on the back, just sharing a small bit of our heart in the matter.

All of that said, we made the most of it. We were happy and joyful even when the gun shots were blazing all night long. We were happy, and sound knowing that God was there with us, and that his protective hand was over us always. God is good in the small things, and in the big ones too. Even though we were grateful there, we feel more free now. The kids are so much happier and sleep so much better. One of them said Sunday morning that she was so glad to wake up without a foot in her face.

Whether here, there, or anywhere, no matter the circumstances, if you have God, you have it all. If you think of things in this light you can be grateful no matter what. I know I am.

Grateful for progress

I am also very grateful for the progress we have made here already. As I have mentioned already our kids are sleeping so much better here. They are also more peaceful and grateful for one another. Noah and Ruth are still working on it with each other, but even they have been doing better. The two of them are just so much alike. The three older boys are actually “camping out” in Noah’s room tonight, too cute. They aren’t begging to leave constantly either. This in and of itself is a huge blessing to me. I get much more done if I stay home and do it.

Since my aunts left the other day we have been diligently whittling away at the rest of the boxes. We only have about 10 left out of around 150. We were out of the house for a while yesterday, or else we may have gotten them all unpacked already. The classroom is looking great. That’s where Grace and I worked for most of the day today. I can not begin to tell you how grateful I am to be going to the grocery store for the first time in our new town tomorrow. When we get home, though, it’s back to work getting the little girls room finished up. I can’t wait to get it all done. It is going to be so cute.

Looking forward to upcoming adventures

I am looking forward to upcoming adventures, and all of the projects we are going to do here. Ruth and I have a couple we are excited to get busy on as soon as her room is all unpacked. We live within walking distance of some really cool things in our new town. They may not excite everyone, but as a homeschooling family, we are excited about them. Once the weather gets a bit more consistent we will begin our adventures.

I’m excited to celebrate my nephew’s 12th birthday with him and our family this weekend. We are relocating for church services on Sunday due to an error at the hotel we currently meet in. So, as you can imagine this weekend is going to be a busy one full of out of the ordinary fun. I can’t wait to see what this coming week has in store for us.

Please continue to pray

I still can’t find my camera. Please continue to pray with me for it to be found soon. Please also pray for my dad and my Aunt Toni. They were both in automobile accidents yesterday. My Aunts made the news. It was quite a crazy day for the two of them.
