My Day Begins
My day begins at 4:30 am, usually. If I am not already up nursing Simon or changing his little diaper, my alarm will wake me up at 4:30 am. Before I get out of bed I thank God for allowing me to wake up for another day, and ask him to help me serve Him better than the day before.
Once I get out of bed I go into the kitchen and put the tea kettle on to boil, then go to the bathroom. I brush my teeth and wash my face with my Mary Kay cleanser and this brush. After that I go back to the kitchen and grind my husbands coffee beans. By that time the tea kettle is usually whistling so I go ahead and make my tea and his coffee. Packing his lunch box is next on my agenda. Then we pray together and he goes off to work for 12 hours. I wish so much that he did not have to be away so much. That is one purpose of this blog.
After Aaron goes off to work I either nurse and change Simon, or I start my alone time with God. This just depends on whether or not Simon is awake. I try to spend at least one full hour every morning reading scripture and talking with God. Sometimes this is a little longer and sometimes it’s cut a bit short, but it is the most important part of my morning. If I do not spend any time with God first thing in the morning the day just doesn’t flow and I don’t feel joy like I would if I had that time with Him.
My “Me” Time
My me time in the morning looks a lot like work. I get out my planner and schedule out my day. When I get this done I go down stairs and start a load of laundry. Then I get out my laptop and my exercise mat and get started on these diastasis recti exercises. After I have worked out I grab my baby and just cuddle him for a while. As we cuddle I make sure everything is out together for schooling for the day. Then I go into my bedroom and lay the baby down while I put on my baby carrier. After I put him in it we go and start breakfast and start waking everyone up to start their day.
