So much food
As I explained in my last post, we had a ton of food on Thanksgiving and not a lot of extra people to help eat it. Today I am going to share with you what I made after the creation of “Hoosier Gumbo.” If you missed that post please read it here.
The next day
The day after the “Hoosier Gumbo” I wanted to make a turkey and noodle soup. As I was putting it together I thought to myself, “How can I use some other leftovers up tonight so that they don’t go bad?” Then I thought it might be good and add a bit of creaminess if I threw in the leftovers from the night before. So, I grabbed my phone and called my husband. He is quite particular about his noodle soups. So, I wanted to make sure he would eat it if there was more in it than usual.
He said, “Yes, that sounds delicious,” So, I added it to the soup, and let it cook in the crock pot all day.
About an hour before Aaron was due home, I made the noodles and added them into the soup. It was another huge hit! My family loved it. Some of the kids even went back for more. I’m thinking both of these dishes will be repeats for next year, or maybe even sooner.
We are calling this awesome creation Thanksgiving dinner soup. It has a lot of the aspects of Thanksgiving dinner wrapped up in one savory soup.
